Created in response to the genocide carried out by the state of Israel against the people of Gaza, this piece is a tribute to those who fight back against the odds and struggle for freedom from oppression, wherever it exists. It is also an effort to remember and affirm the truth- that what is happening in Palestine has never been a “war” but rather a genocide, and that resistance is justified in the face of occupation.

This piece has been wheatpasted in public streets in multiple US cities, and has often been met with vandalism and destruction. However, it has also inspired solidarity, reflection, empathy and outrage against injustice. For me it has been a reminder that even in the face of overwhelming state propaganda and collective numbness, art still has the power to move people in meaningful ways.
